DOES IT not occur to Linda Grant ('Just get it over with, I want to start living', 2 January) that for her to enjoy herself on Christmas Day in New York watching films and shows, some unfortunate people must have been working? I work in a theatre that closes only on Christmas Day, and would find it very depressing to be at work while the majority are not. I should hope that she did find everything shut in Britain]
