Sir: The announcement that foreign holidays are to be dearer next year with a more restricted choice ("Travel firms raise prices and cut capacity", 30 August) causes my family no concern, since no places need be reserved for us.
We are one of the many who have had enough of airport departure taxes, exorbitant airport parking charges, unnecessary check-in times, airport congestion, delayed flights, often poor-quality accommodation and being treated overall no better than cattle.
After some 30 years of package tours, we shall be staying in the UK next year.
Yours,
Nigel C. Williams
