Sir: Tina Thompson ("Feeding frenzy", 18 July) is quite right when she says that at 9.30pm small children should be in bed in peace and quiet. It has got nothing to do with "atrocious Victorian" values. It is simply the best for the child. Feeding time should be a quiet time where mother and child can concentrate on each other and not on a noisy debate. Being breast-fed in Parliament or the US Congress is not shocking, it is simply of no benefit to the baby.
