From Mr Tony Dunn

Sir: If, as the Attorney General asserts ("Why I have done nothing wrong", 16 February), "When PII is claimed ... all the documents are shown to the judge [who] must then read them to decide which should be disclosed to the defence", why was it necessary for Michael Heseltine's certificate to be "specially redrafted to emphasise that he was ... leaving to the judge the question as to which document should or should not be released"?

Yours faithfully,

Tony Dunn
