Sir: Readers of the article about the Gopsall Temple ruins ('Hallelujah] The source of inspiration', 23 December) may like to know that the tune Handel composed for Charles Wesley's hymn, 'Rejoice, the Lord is King', is named 'Gopsal' (so spelt) attesting his connection with Gopsall House and his friendship with Charles Jennens, its owner.
Yours faithfully,
PHILIP ASHCROFT
Haddenham, Buckinghamshire
