Sir: Despite centuries of shameful behaviour on both sides, Ireland and Britain continue to influence one another in myriad positive ways. Although formally divorced, both continue to enjoy access to each other's children. Should your reporting of Irish affairs be taken from the 'Home' pages (Letters, 3 December), I, as an Irishman living in England, should feel somewhat alienated.

Yours faithfully,

JOSEPH BRAY
