Sir: Concerning your correspondent Sir William Hayter's question about who wants a new road in the Oxford area (Letters, 28 June), I suggest he will learn the answer when it is opened.

Doubtless among those who will soon jam it up will be many who in their spare time complain about the sacrifice of both town and country to the insatiable motor car.
