Sir: As a relatively innocent citizen, I would like to know how it was that the trial of the Birmingham Six was not fair. We will never know whether those policemen committed the vicious crime of which they were accused.
Nor do I feel sure that the decision to stop the trial was wholly in the interests of justice. If I were the victim of a police or judicial conspiracy, God forbid, I would not expect my interests to weigh much against those of the conspirators.
Yours sincerely,
