Sir: Andrew Brown and Charles Arthur are quite correct in their conclusions about the risks to children on the Internet. There is a document on the Net called Child Safety on the Highway which gives suggestions about letting children use the Internet. These include making sure that whenever the child does venture out on to the Net, there is a parent with him or her at the computer. This is not a question of censorship or freedom of expression; parents have to take responsibility for their children in this as in other things.
