Sir: Last night the Archbishop of Canterbury, with Cardinal Basil Hume and other church leaders were at the St Martin's service in London for the start of the Year of the Family.

This morning you print over 400 words about Dr Carey by Michael De-la-Noy. When did you last publish at similar length an address by the archbishop, or the cardinal?

I recall him speaking at Church House. A television crew there said that nothing would be broadcast. Did I not know that no row is equivalent to no news.
