Sir: You suggest (report, 22 June) that Michael Heseltine has now lost his 'last hope of leadership'. In the same column, his cardiologist reports that he is 'awake, lucid, aware of where he is and able to chat pleasantly'. Surely as the only member of the Cabinet with this range of qualities and competence, he is in there with a very good chance.
