Sir: Sophie Grigson says ('A feast justifies the joint effort', 9 October) that 'Sunday Lunch with a capital L and all the trimmings has been forced to change with the times.' It certainly has.

In my formative years (the 1950s) the sort of meal described and illustrated in her article was Sunday Dinner with a capital D. Lunch was something one ate from a sandwich-box. Lunch has since ousted Dinner to the extent that I have even, in recent years, seen reference to something called 'Christmas lunch'. Turkey sandwiches?
