LETTER: Let shareholders fix directors' pay justice in self-awarded salaries

Sir: Ed Wallis, the chief executive of PowerGen, is quoted as defending his £1.2m share option bonanza with the remark, "I'm worth every penny" (report, 7 February). When did he last reflect on Psalm 131 v. 1: "Lord, I am not high-minded; I have no proudlooks"?
