Letter: Living in the past

Sir: I too have had Conservative junk mail (letters, 7 February). It was addressed to "Mr R Maynes PHD History" - which seemed odd enough coming from "The Rt Hon Dr Brian Mawhinney MP." But odder still was the letter itself. This began: "Dear Mr History."
