Letter: Losing it in India

Sir: Reading the sports pages of the Independent in recent weeks, the reasons for the defeat of England's cricket team seem to be: Chinese food, smog, fog, humidity, temperature, pollution, Indian airlines, Indian railways, Indian bureaucracy, particular kinds of umpires, toss, and probably Indian spinners - necessarily in that order. Food for thought for England selectors. Who said British Rail was complaining about autumn leaves on the tracks]

Sincerely yours,

A. R. RAGHU RAM
