Sir: Now that the British government has enough confidence in our former Cold War enemies to open up its military secrets to 40 Russian military officers (Home; In Brief, 5 September), can we expect that the people of this country will be permitted similar access to information rather than the usual response that "it is not in the national interest" to release information?
Yours sincerely
