Sir: With regard to the Millennium Dome and the future of us all, it is worth noting that the concrete dome over the defunct (but very much alive) nuclear plant at Chernobyl is beginning to break apart ("New fears at Chernobyl", 8 January). According to reports, the cost of a new Chernobyl dome will be pounds 700m - just the sum the Government is spending (officially) on fripperies in Greenwich!
