Sir: Nostalgia made me buy my young son's first copy of the Beano four years ago. He has his own computer and all the distractions of the modern age he lives in. Nevertheless, he quickly became devoted to the daft characters and waits each week for the thud on the doormat with glee. The old 'timewarped' format doesn't bother him at all - in fact, it adds to the comic's appeal.
As for making the Bash Street Kids clean up their act with political, cosmetic and environmental correctness ('Bash Street Kids' lesson in reality', 1 February) - can they at least be allowed to watch Romeo and Juliet?
Yours sincerely,
