Sir: Broadcasters, you say (leading article; "Babies, BBC and the BCC", 24 February), are obliged to get things right. The reason the Broadcasting Complaints Commission found Panorama's "Babies on Benefit" flawed and irresponsible was because it got crucial facts wrong.
This week's ruling on a technicality in no way alters the facts of the case, on which the BBC lost so spectacularly.
Putting the record straight on behalf of the maligned lone parents was the purpose of our objection. We succeeded.
Yours faithfully,
ANNE SPACKMAN
