Sir: The moth that E C Bradley saw on the underground recently (Letters, 21 July) sounds like a Cinnabar moth.

Found in meadows and wasteland, they appear May to July. Twenty five years ago there were a large number on a certain spot between Lynsted and Doddington in Kent.
