Sir: So the Grand National has been run and I am glad that we have cocked a snook at the IRA. But my abiding impression is of Smith's Band lying at the base of a fence, a still brown mound as the other horses thundered on. With the death of this horse and also that of Straight Talk surely a review of the danger of this race is overdue.
