Sir: We, as members of the British Muslim community, have been outraged at the recent bombings aimed at the Jewish community.

Peaceful co-existence of all communities is not only desirable but is also in line with the basic teachings of Islam. It is in fact a duty of every Muslim to uphold the rights of other members of the society, to observe the principles of brotherhood and good neighbourliness and to stand up against all such acts of violence - whoever the perpetrators.

Yours truly,
