Letter: Naked humour
Sir: Nicholas Williams, in his review (30 April) of the concert by the Sudwestfunk Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden, commented on the lack of "a touch of humour" in the woodwind section.
Apart from the name of the orchestra itself, surely this was provided by their playing in the nude. How else could they have offered "a naturist's challenge to the blended mode of tone production" in the "long preludal strophe of the concerto's slow movement"?
