From Mr David Piggins

Sir: In the profile of the Loch Ness monster ( 3 February), you mention that the first 20th-century sighting of Nessie was in 1933, by the proprietors of the Drumnadrochit Hotel. Later you say that the A82 was opened to serve the same area in the same year. What an extraordinary coincidence, or merely entrepreneurial?

Yours truly,

David Piggins
