Letter: No surprises in the television news

MIGHT I suggest another way to halt the decline in television news audiences? Why not give us half an hour of news? Currently, each item seems to be accompanied by a posse of pundits, 'experts' and, worst of all, politicians, who proceed to ponder, prophesy and prevaricate about what might happen, as long as the markets smell blood, the rebels back down, the UN acts decisively, it doesn't rain, and Too Hot To Handle wins the 3.15 at Kempton. Why not try giving us half an hour of interesting, challenging, provocative and engaging news? There is a whole world out there, so let's see some of it.
