IF SOMEONE seeks to defend rape, discrimination, earthquakes or malaria by saying that such things have always been around and are 'perfectly natural', I hope that we reply: 'so what]' Just because suffering and injustice are natural and widespread does not make it wrong to oppose them.
Therefore, when Patricia Miller rejects her daughter's animal rights concerns and vegetarianism by referring to the natural and widespread character of meat-eating I trust that the reply is also: 'so what]'
