Letter: Peace convoy shames politicians
Sir: As the mother of a soldier who might well find himself embroiled in the tragedy of Bosnia if we involve ourselves more deeply, I cannot agree that Britain, or indeed any nation, should be ashamed of its role in the affair.
Enough has been written and said about the three-cornered quarrel that exists in that troubled land. Suffice it to say that I do not see it as our business - terrible though the facts are - to throw our sons into the cauldron. Perhaps, like some virulent epidemic, the conflict will burn itself out - please leave our forces out of it.
Yours sincerely,
AMANDA FERGUSSON
