Sir: John Adams's summary of the transport problems we face contains a horrifying statistic - that traffic will double by 2025. What he does not mention is that a solution to this is already before the House of Commons.

The Road Traffic Reduction Bill would set targets to reduce road traffic by 10 per cent by 2010.
