Sir: You recently reported that this country has the lowest rate of fatal road accidents in Europe. Today I read that the Institute of Advanced Motorists wants the speed limit in the UK to be raised to 80mph to bring us into line with the rest of Europe. Do they want to bring road deaths into line, too?
