Sir: Peter Miller (letter, 3 February) says, "We need to develop ... the information infrastructure that would allow people making similar journeys to be matched together." We had such a thing fifty years ago - it was called a railway timetable. And (until Beeching) we had the "hardware infrastructure" to go with it.
