Letter: Rare object of desire
Sir: Sandi Menzies-Kitchin (Letters, 28 January) has a sanguine view of the future for women, when gender choice tilts the balance of the population in favour of males and females become rare. Rare objects have to be locked away or they are stolen.
Women in many cultures suffer confinement, which assures their safety and the protection of the family honour. If they dare venture out alone they are considered fair game. What price such a future for women here?
Yours faithfully,
