Letter: Redwood's passion

Sir: Let us be frank about the Mother of Parliaments. All the "heated exchanges", the "sharp questioning" the "test of mettle and men" - and even women - are a pantomime put on for the delectation of the media and the massaging of politicians' egos.

MPs do not attend the "worthy debates" because they are equally meaningless and far less fun. Cabinet decides, and Parliament is a rubber stamp.

It's time our politicians dropped the yah-boo-sucks approach and grew up.
