Letter: Referendums, north and south, for Ireland

Sir: I applaud your editorial "A referendum for peace" (20 February), but why restrict the referendum to Ireland? What about the rest of us here in Britain? There are more Irish in Britain than in the whole of Ireland, and we would sooner see a happy Ireland than a united graveyard.
