Sir: Can I assure Peter Castle (letter, 29 January) that the Inland Revenue will deal with any repayments due to his clients in the same rigorous manner. I recently received a letter regarding an overpayment of tax which had accrued 1p of repayment interest. The amount overpaid, of 3p, has been allocated to our account, and I am to be contacted about the interest in the near future.
