FLAT Earth claimed (3 May) that the bistro of the French Institute in Romania "is packed with Romanians marvelling at dishes such as canard au moutard". Understandably so - un moutard means a little lad! That this canard should appear under the heading "French lessons" makes it doubly unfortunate. Rather than a la moutarde it should, I suppose, be taken avec un grain de sel.
