Has it occurred to critics of Antony Williams's portrait of the Queen that she chose him for economic reasons. Williams obviously meant the picture to last a lifetime. The Queen is unlikely to look this old for at least 20 years so it will suffice until she is well into her nineties, obviating the need to commission a new official portrait until well into the next century. It is obvious from the painting she has already pawned her crown and jewellery. I for one give her a big hand!
