Sir: In reply to Susannah Clasen's letter (11 January), I would like to tell you what weekends at boarding school are really like.

I am 13 and a boarder at Horris Hill prep school. I can assure Ms Clasen that weekends are far from painful. We have plenty to do - fives, printing, music, model making, golf, snooker, table tennis, art, trains, pottery, computing, plus all other indoor and outdoor sports. The staff are also willing to give us their time and patience with these activities.
