Letter: Short's antics are a threat to Labour victorySir: It is not the combined efforts of Peter Mandelson, Alastair Campbell and Tony Blair that will lose Labour the next general election. If Clare Short is intelligent enough to realise that anything other than a Labour victory at the next general election could mean the end of the Labour Party, let alone another five destructive years of Tory government, then why is she hell-bent on ensuring that her grim prophecy becomes reality?

Clare Short claims that it is Labour's "obsession" with the media that will prevent them from winning. One sure-fire way to throw it all away is to appear divided and Short is an expert at generating the spin on that.
