Sir: On the one hand the Government is reported to favour state funding for political parties. On the other, Gordon Brown announced that a pounds 12m grant is to be sought from Europe to "educate" the British about the single currency. Any chance of William Hague and chums receiving a similar sum to put forward their side of the argument?
