Stephen S Roach and his ilk prosper because of the unquestioning faith put in "management consultants". Businesses appear to have lost faith in themselves, turning to modern-day witch doctors who chant mantras about "downsizing" and "concentrating on core activities". I live in the hope that one day we will realise that underneath the witch doctor's cloak is nothing more than the emperor's new clothes.
