Sir: With reference to Nigel Stennett-Cox's letter (1 November); it wasn't soya beans, it was hemp used in the manufacture of Ford cars. Henry Ford, in the publicity photograph mentioned, was hitting the boot lid not to test the soya paint, but to demonstrate the toughness of the bodywork, moulded entirely out of hemp fibres.
