Sir: Aircraft entering and flying in UK-controlled airspace have, for many years, been identified and tracked by means of secondary surveillance radar or its military equivalent, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF). Is it not time to have an equivalent system introduced on surface ships in UK waters?
