Sir: Your report from Colombo 'Tamil Tigers run 'Nazi' camps' (17 February) refers to prison camps run by Tamils in northern and eastern Ceylon. As a Ceylonese Tamil living in exile, I am reasonably alive to what is happening in what was once my country. There is no truth whatsoever in the allegations made by the self-styled 'human rights' group whose name itself appears rather sadly ill-composed as 'University of Teachers for Human Rights (Jaffna)'. This report is calculated to tarnish the image of the Tamils in Ceylon and to discredit our struggle for survival as a free people in our own land.
