Sir: It's a pity that dental surgeon Simon Fox (letter, 16 March) felt the need to be offensive about his professional colleagues. There is high (and low) quality dentistry in both private and NHS dentistry, but only in the NHS is there quality control. A pity, too, that he is able to ignore those who haven't the money to pay private charges.
