Sir: It is most gratifying to receive statistical confirmation from George Nicholson (letter, 22 July) that Thursdays are wetter than other days. Having chosen Thursday as my weekly day off for quite a few years now, I have certainly been entertaining that suspicion. Indeed, friends and I have a private expression for rainy days - very Thursday.
