Sir: Your report of 'Voters 'rejecting two-party past' ' (31 May) is not wholly correct. It is true that the chairman of the Cheshire County Council is a Liberal Democrat, but it is not true that the committee chairmanships are to rotate between all parties. That is what the Liberal Democrats wanted, was agreed with the Conservatives but rejected by Labour. The wish was father to the thought, but not to the fact.
Yours faithfully,
JOHN COLLINS
Leader, Labour Group
