Sir: I was startled to read in today's Hunter Davies interview that my marriage to A. N. Wilson 'collapsed after some five years'. In the eyes of the law and myself, we were married for more than 17 years. Perhaps this was one of those 'glorious generalisations based on the slimmest of information' celebrated in the interview.
