Sir: Now that boarding preparatory schools aren't what they used to be, what are we expatriates to do? Compulsory exeats three to four times a term are accepted by most local families, happy to share these weekends with their children. Bursars welcome them as marvellous money-savers. Meanwhile our 'overseas' children are shuffled from granny to guardian to well-meaning friend. Where is the consistent care and stability we could once expect from this expensive boarding facility?
Yours faithfully,
RUTH M. J. SHERWIN
