WELL WRITTEN, Justine Picardie ('Home Thoughts', Review, 16 January). The constant vigilance needed to avoid the excrement fouling the pavements means it is now miserable to walk, although walking is recommended by doctors. The consequences of walking with one's head up, admiring the view, are disgusting. The civic instruction to 'kerb your dog' does not solve the problem. Care is then needed crossing the road, particularly with a pushchair or wheelchair, to avoid the muck in the gutter. Dog owners should clear up after their pets. There is no other solution.
