Letter: Vinyl famine

Sir: David Hughes of EMI (letter, 6 November) urges music-lovers to ask in record shops for what they want. I have tried, but unfortunately the record industry cannot supply.

I wish to purchase my music on vinyl and record companies either advertise the existence of an LP and then refuse to supply or release the LP in certain markets only. The latest Bob Dylan album is available as an LP only in the Netherlands.
